Born and educated in Sydney, my education commenced at East Sydney Technical College in 1968, continuing at Elsternwick Art School in Victoria and Camden Art School in London. I also studied Fine Arts at Sydney University While tutoring Life Drawing in Mullumbimby and Byron Bay, I spent some time with Ed Melford in Avalon, who was a Master of Portrait. From 1990—94 I tutored from my studio in Urbenville and the Border Ranges, while studying with Michael Taylor in Lismore.

For the past five years I have continued to work from my home in Bellingen.

I have worked in most mediums with a variety of subjects. Emanating from the fascination for Life Studies has evolved the Portrait, as well as Landscape and Floral themes. All are about life, energy, colour. In my work I am inspired by the life force of a subject; its own unique spirit, or song that transcends time and space. I love painting for its scope for visual richness and intensity; and I love drawing because of its capacity for spontaneity and intimacy. In my work I hope to bring these features together.
