As an online British art gallery, Art Angel provides not just original
work by some of the most promising Artists from UK and Australia,
but also supplies digital "giclee" prints of their work.
The Artists work is photographed on medium format film and scanned
at very high resolution. All the artists who have giclee prints
available for sale print onto heavy (310 gsm) acid free fine art
"photo rag" paper with pigment inks, ensuring 80 years
life for the print (longer if well- kept).
At the moment only the work of Howard Coles is available as prints.
This makes Art Angel a unique online art gallery. Another unique
feature is that if you purchase a print of an artist's work that
is still for sale, and later decide to buy the original, we will
subtract the cost of the print from the cost of the original (this
is assuming that the piece is exclusive to Art Angel and not displayed
anywhere else). Many other online art galleries, try to persuade
you to buy originals with tiny on-screen thumbnails and do not have
fine art reproductions of their artists work available. Many print
artists will benefit hugely from this service as the giclee prints
produced by Art Angel have superior colour fidelity and longevity.
Fine art photographic prints
Most the fine art photography found on Art Angel is produced in
the same way. The prints are superior to photographic prints as
mentioned above. Some work is hand printed - it is stated clearly
with earch photographers work.
