We have what we like to think of as a sensible approach
to selling art. We realise that most people will not buy art from
the web without knowing the work of that artist. People need to
physically see the paintings.
That is why we do not consider ourselves in competition with physical
galleries - we work in partnership.
Art Angel is an excellent tool for promoting an artists to new clients
- we then need to direct these people to physical spaces - your
galleries - where they can see the work and may well buy. We see
or seek no financial boon from this as this is a service the artist
pays us for!
Art Angel is also a great means of existing clients seeing new work
- once they have bought from an artist they may well consider buying
without seeing the work. This aspect of the sale apparently excludes
the gallery. However our contract stipulates that if that if
a gallery forwards a client to Art Angel, or to an Art Angel artist
then all subsequent sales will generate commission to that gallery.
No artist can afford to jepardise their main distribution network
- your galleries. Most Artists produce more work, however, than
they can hope to sell in galleries alone.
Become an Art Angel Affiliate Gallery and we will link to
your website (if you have one) in a similar way to the Artists featured
on this site. If you exhibit an Art Angel Artist we will send you
brochures and a guestbook for Art Angel - all email addresses generated
by the exhibition will go into your database of forwarded customers
and we will negotiate a commission between you and the artists for
future sales.
